Jennifer Canfield, MS, LAc, Dipl OM, FABORM, had an interest in medicine from an early age, passionately studying noninvasive modalities for health and healing in her spare time. Once introduced to Traditional Chinese Medicine, nearly twenty years ago, the philosophies and mechanism for such profound results quickly resonated, and she committed to learn as much as possible.

Her specialties today include:

  • Women’s health

  • Fertility

  • Infertility

  • Family health and wellness

  • Autoimmune conditions, especially difficult cases that have been unresolved in the Western paradigm.

Jennifer is a fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine (ABORM), the highest standard for Chinese medical fertility/infertility practitioners. In addition to offering comprehensive care for fertility and IVF preparation, Jennifer is available for onsite acupuncture before and after IVF transfer, a treatment that has been shown to increase success by up to 30%.

Jennifer believes the foundation of healing is a pure and open heart and lifelong learning. She is known for her compassionate bedside manner, analytical mind, determination to solve difficult cases, and integrative, personalized treatment strategies.

She believes every patient deserves to be treated individually, and treats patients with Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture and herbology, as well as an integrated approach, using the latest advancements in lab testing, food sensitivity testing, nutritional counseling, body work, and healthy lifestyle recommendations.

Before starting her own practice, Jennifer spent several years working with Dr. Shaoting Jing at TCM Healing Center, pursuing a special focus in all stages of women’s health, fertility planning, and infertility, including hormone balancing, pre- and post-menopause, pre- and post-natal, pre- and post-IVF and IUI treatments, as well as comprehensive family health and wellness. She has worked extensively with PCOS cases, endometriosis, fibroids, and reversed her own diagnosis many years ago with lifestyle changes, Chinese herbs, and acupuncture.

Jennifer obtained her Master’s degree in traditional Chinese medicine from Emperor’s College in Santa Monica, CA with high honors. In addition to studies in TCM, Jennifer holds a Master’s degree in Communications from the S.I. Newhouse School of Communications, in Syracuse, NY. She spent years teaching communications and researching medicine, and is very much looking forward to continued research and treatment in the fields of women’s health, fertility, and autoimmune conditions.

In addition to fertility studies and research, Jennifer spent time at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center, Roy and Patricia Disney Family Cancer Center, gaining experience in an integrative East-West approach to treating patients in active and remission stages of cancer, including treatment of neuropathy, lymphedema, immune function, digestive conditions, sleep disturbances, emotional well-being and women’s health.

She worked under Dr. Robert Chu during her time at Disney Family Cancer Center, learning Master Tung’s renowned method of acupuncture treatment. Jennifer also worked in an integrated environment at Venice Family Clinic in Santa Monica, treating a wide range of conditions with both acupuncture and integrated techniques.
