Chinese herbal medicine has been used for thousands of years to treat a wide and complete range of internal medical conditions. Chinese herbal formulas are created custom for each patient and their condition, taking into account the root cause of each condition, rather than just its symptoms. If indicated, cupping therapy, moxibustion, and other manual therapies—such as tui na, therapeutic massage, and / or oscillation therapy—will be included during our sessions together. Cupping is the use of warm glass cups to detoxify tissues, provide relief from pain and muscle tension / tightness, and oxygenate and promote blood flow to the tissues. Cupping is often indicated and quite effective in treating low back pain, neck and shoulder pain and tension, and to relieve longstanding acute and chronic pain and tension in the body. Moxibustion is the use of (generally) the herb mugwort over specific acupuncture points to revitalize, promote circulation, and for deep constitutional re-balance. Moxibustion is also extremely effective in turning breech babies, and other indications we can discuss at your visit.
